Ahmed's diverse experience in the upstream oil and gas industry includes development and implementation of management and information systems for HSE, community relations, GHG accounting, crisis and emergency response, and occupational health and project HSE planning.

Ahmed has a comprehensive understanding of international HSE policy, legislative processes, and best practices, and can effectively communicate complex issues to both stakeholders and the community. Hiss core areas of expertise include:

• developing and implementing emergency response and crisis management systems in difficult business environments

Major projects and achievements

• Development and implementation of an integrated HSE Management System for Eni Pakistan Ltd
• Development of a GHG accounting system for an on-shore gas processing plant and verification of carbon inventory
• Development of a crisis management and emergency response system to be used by 43 business units of Eni across the world
• Project management of the integration of an occupational health management system with an HSE integrated management system
• Development of a project HSE plan for a brown-field development involving upgrading of an off shore gas processing plant
• Establishment of an integrated rural support organization to carry out rural development programmes
• Development and implementation of a risk-based contractor management program to derive international standard HSE performance from contractors

Professional Background

Ahmed started his HSE work with Lasmo Oil by developing and implementing HSE and technical training programmes for the personnel of a new gas processing plant. He then worked in various operational roles and was ultimately elevated to the position of HSE & Community Relations Manager in Eni Pakistan Limited. Ahmed routinely still advises on HSE management issues to other Eni business units.

Ahmed has successfully undertaken courses in internal auditing (for both ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) and crisis management.
