Core skills and expertise

Geoff has extensive systems, safety, training and operations experience that spans 30 years across the education, mining, construction, chemical and international development sectors.
Initially an education professional managing the development of trades' skills, Geoff migrated into mining gaining hands on operations experience in gold mills, concentrators, chemical plants and refineries. Later he applied his knowledge and expertise to advising and consulting by developing practical safety and training systems and processes. 

Geoff has more recently managed projects overseas in Mongolia and Indonesia for mining and engineering groups applying skills, knowledge and expertise in safety systems and standards to support operations, maintenance, engineering design, construction, fabrication and commissioning projects.

Geoff has supported and managed:

• Development and implementation of Safety Standards to support operations, engineering, maintenance and construction projects.
• Created and delivered specialist safety training programs.
• Created and implemented Engineers Development Program.
• Provided mentoring as an expat specialist for Management, Safety Coordinators and workers in Indonesia.
• Created a training and development system proposal for the career development of Mongolian people on a green-fields mine in Mongolia.
• Provided expertise for the initial development and review of the ATQF framework and Metalliferous Mining Training Packages in Australia and developed one of the first competency based training systems for mine site personnel.

In addition, Geoff is a Lead Auditor and has coordinated operational safety and training audits, lead construction project legal compliance audits, developed world class safety standards and created supporting resources such as guidelines, procedures, work instructions and training materials.

Geoff has developed and implemented safety and training management systems, risk management systems, training, investigation and reporting systems and processes.
