Professional BackgroundWes originally managed a small business before joining the Australian Army for six years where he specialised in reconnaissance and surveillance. Upon leaving the military, he worked as a commercial diver in Broome, Western Australia. In 1996 he started work with the Western Police Service and quickly moved into high risk policing (Tactical Response Group). In September 2003 he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq to undertake close personal protection duties for USAID.
