What it's about (Objective/Purpose)

  • Assisting the client effectively implement a management system for their operations
  • Advising the client on how to improve its existing management system to conform to the relevant AS/ISO standard and to implement an improvement program to ensure the client's management system is suitable for the certification process
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations – to carry out an assessment of the client's management systems and to assist the client to meet standards required by the regulations.
  • Providing a focused action plan to improve management and the effectiveness of  training
  • Provision of management system support:
    •    Consulting and facilitation roles for the development, implementation, and integration of quality, OHS, security, and environmental management systems
    •    Second and third party auditing of management systems
    •    RABQSA-registered Lead and Internal Auditor training
    •    Placement of short term professionals to assist with management system development and implementation projects

Safety management system auditing

Safety management systems

  • Review existing safety resources, then develop and implement a safety management system for a client's site – coordinate the site's certification to AS4801 Safety Management Systems
  • Develop major hazard standards including training of employees and providing implementation support to the OHS and operating departments
  • Develop a comprehensive series of fatality prevent elements to assist in defining the safety requirements to minimize the risk of experiencing fatal incidents:
  • Develop a series of standardised approaches to managing key risk areas which can contribute to fatal incidents
  • Develop a guideline document for each fatality prevent element – a general description/guideline on how to implement each requirement, and provision of generic forms /proformas for conducting critical assessments and recording information
  • Develop documentation for conducting a gap analysis on each fatality prevention element including the range of records and document required to demonstrate that a process has been established to manage the requirements, and detail the actions/processes which should be evaluated

Risk management planning

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of the client's risk management plan, quality management system, and security plan, and provide a schedule of recommended internal audit activities
  • Prepare a HAZOP process in compliance with client standards:
  • Identify potential hazard or operability matters by systematically reviewing the system diagrams, processes, operating environment, and associated documentation and to recommend appropriate actions so that the facilities operational and safety systems are suitable.
  • As an integral part of the client's safety management system, provide a record of the HAZID/HAZOP review
  • Prepare a HSE plan
  • Conduct safety reviews
  • Prepare HSE requirements for contractors, and evaluate and audit bidders
