Lender’s Consultant

As Lender’s consultant, Sustainability provides technical, environment and social (E&S) consultancy services from the signing of the loan agreement through to project completion. Our role is to ensure successful implementation of the project in accordance with the terms of the loan and all the relevant laws and requirements. Our strength as Lenders consultant comes from the ability to provide practical solutions that provide positive outcomes for all stakeholders and are aligned to both local and global standards.

Ongoing Due Diligence & Monitoring for Lenders

Our approach to ongoing due dalliance and monitoring is centred around establishment of a detailed understating of the project’s environmental and social aspects, impacts and proposed management measures through an initial detailed desktop review followed by field verification via a site visit to key project locations including interviews with relevant project personnel and stakeholders.

Sustainability utilises proven tools for documenting and tracking items that arise through the due diligence and monitoring process. Internal peer reviews ensures that our findings are through, verifiable and reasonable. With extensive project management protocols, communications between the Lenders, Borrowers become seamless. It is our experience that clear and effective communications between all parties are essential for this work.

Our team is a mixture of both highly experienced international consultants and national specialists to allow efficient transfer of information in local language where necessary.

Lender Consultant Experience

Sustainability has worked with the major International Finance Institutions (IFIs), including the European Bank of Redevelopment and Construction, World Bank, International Finance corporation (IFC) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) among others.

Sustainability’s experience ranges from serving as Lender’s Independent Environment and Social Consultant (IESC) in Azerbaijan for the Shah Deniz II Project, as well as the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Project in Turkey, serving as Lender’s Environment and Social Consultant (LESC) for Dongi Sonoro LNG, Indonesia and the current Ichthys LNG Project in northern Australia.

Sustainability has conducted international standard ESIAs of extractive projects in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Mongolia for major international resource projects, and provided international standard environmental, health and safety, and social performance consulting services to clients in Australia, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
