Sustainability recently completed a review of the Sedgman Operations Management documentation at the Karumba Port facility for the Century Mine restart project in Queensland.

To meet the limited timeframes available for operational readiness requirements for the zinc mine to recommence production, Sustainability’s Technical Writing experts were engaged to review and adjust the dewatering and ship loading manuals for implementation at the Port prior to operations.

Led by Senior Advisor Marty Karow, Sustainability provided valuable input to Sedgman’s engineering and operational expertise and ensured all deliverables were provided on time and on budget.

CEO David Hunt said: “Our straightforward risk-based approach provided the ideal foundation for the review of operational and maintenance documentation required for the operational readiness at the port.”

Sedgman Operations Manager Craig Hawthorne expressed pleasure in the ease with which Sustainability completed the work and referred for future projects.
The re-start project included refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Lawn Hill processing plant, concentrate pipeline and Karumba Port.

The site re-commenced production in the third quarter of 2018 as scheduled.
